Aerial Pencil is inspired by the act of the same name performed at Cirque Du Soleil Drawn to Life at the Walt Disney World Resort. Every day the artists bring an incredible passion and love to their performance. That inspired me to attempt to capture it in my artwork.

While Saulo, the artist depicted here, is the focus of the piece he was not the hardest part to do. Surprisingly, the most difficult part was the Aerial Pencil logo I designed for the piece. It had to match the Drawn to Life logo yet also be graceful and swirling like the act. I went through dozens of attempts coloring it before I decided on the finished project. Eventually choosing to use similar tones to the pencil and roses so it didn’t stand out too much and take the attention away from Saulo.
